Lawyers to protest over Elections .......Agbakoba: NBA'll protest elections. - April 16, 2007

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) said yesterday that it would  embark on a one-day symbolic protest to register its displeasure over the just concluded 2007 general elections.

Its president, Mr. Olisa Agbakoba (SAN) told reporters after a session of its two-day National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting which opened yesterday in Lagos that the elections were 'a charade'.

He said:" The NBA is grossly concerned about the outcome of the elections and needs to rise to the challenge of Nigerians who were disenfrancised."

"We are going to make a strong statement on it and embark on the protest as soon as the NEC fixes a date," he said.
