OA&A has in appropriate circumstances rendered pro bono legal assistance to disadvantaged persons, communities and groups, on independent and non-profit bases.
We advise, render consultancy and provide legal assistance on variety of issues through our affiliate, THE Human Rights Law Services.

Services under our legal aid scheme include:

• Legal Assistance to victims of human rights violation
• Extensive prison decongestion programs in conjunction with the justice development and peace commission of the catholic secretariat of Nigeria PROJECT 500
•  Facilitation of the release of 579 awaiting trial prisoners ATPs under our ENUGU PRISONS PROJECT
•  HURILAWS was also a member of the  federal government prison decongestion committee set up in 1999 with a mandate to decongest Nigeria prisons. About 7000 prisoners were released.
    
  At OA&A, we are committed to the belief that the doors of justice should be open even to the voiceless notwithstanding any financial disadvantage.
